Edward Tufte’s course covers a lot of ground. My initial perception was that “presenting” visual information meant making charts and graphics. His course, though, also covers presenting in the idea of getting up in front of a room full of people. To that end he covers a lot of ground on how to be authoritative, and conversely how to pick out fraudsters.
At heart ET is a science and numbers guy. That’s not bad, but at heart I’m an illustrator, these true natures color our work. His tries to strip everything bare, mine approaches are more aimed at the readability, the look. Both tacks can stay true to the numbers, which is VERY important, but their are areas in presentation where they diverge.
