Standing alone and afraid in a storm screaming at the wind to stop is a vain and useless gesture. Everyone will understand your actions but no one will support them. The only recourse is to accept the things you can not change. Swallow your fools pride. Accept the fact that your only recourse is to accept the lashing, wind driven rain. Go and rejoin the company of your companions. Take solace in there shelter and try to forget the storm raging against the locked shutters.
This is simply the way things are.
